About This Program

By creating partnerships between local Animal Control Officers and veterinarians, the MVMA Charities play an important role in getting these animals the medical care they need. Currently, funds are made available to every town and city in the commonwealth.

​​Our goal:

The Stray Animal Program’s goal is to enlist all 351 cities and towns throughout the commonwealth to help as many animals across the state as possible. We work to provide outreach to animal control officers and veterinarians alike. We encourage pet owners to ask their veterinarians if they partner with our program, too!

Achievements:

Currently, 196 communities across Massachusetts have registered for the Stray Animal Program and are receiving as much as $3,000 per year to offset their stray animals’ medical and surgical care. Here’s what Animal Control Officers say about the program:
