Our Story

We serve all of Massachusetts.

Since 2008, the MVMA Charities has protected and served the pet communities of Massachusetts through its programs. It was originally started by Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association Charities (MVMA) member veterinarian Dr. Rodney Poling and provided funds for unowned animals through the Stray Animal Fund.

Over the years, we added international programs in addition to emergency and disaster programs to round out the organization. The Mazunte Turtle Project and Project Samana have since become their own entities, and our work focuses solely on Massachusetts animals in need.

With Your Help, We are Making The World a Better Place.

We continue to work with Animal Control Officers and first responders across the Commonwealth to better the lives of people and pets in need.

Animal Control Officers across the commonwealth encounter stray animals in need every day. Our Stray Animal Program provides financial assistance for emergency care so these animals can be rehabilitated and re-homed.
